Leeds Rhinos Foundation scoop award at Child Friendly Leeds Award

Leeds Rhinos Foundation were recognised for their contribution to improving the lives of young people in the city at the Child Friendly Leeds Awards, where they picked up the award for Best Overall Contribution.

The awards, led by Leeds City Council in partnership with the Yorkshire Evening Post and Leeds City Varieties, celebrated some of the people, places and organisations helping to make Leeds a child friendly place.
 
Around 550 nominations came in for champion children, child friendly places and people who go the extra mile to support young people.
 
The Leeds Rhinos Foundation were recognised for their variety of work in helping make the city a better place to grow up and for playing a part in making children and young people healthier, happier and safer.
 
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Operations Director, Bob Bowman and trustee, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, were there to collect the award at the ceremony held at Leeds City Varieties.
 
Speaking about receiving the award Bowman said: “This is a fantastic accolade for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and testament to the hard work of all the staff and the vision to change people’s lives through sport.  The agenda of Child Friendly Leeds is very important for the city of Leeds and to awarded the Best Over Contribution is a tremendous honour.”
