Leeds Rhinos Foundation partner with Yorkshire Thorns Touch Rugby team

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce that we will be working with Yorkshire Thorns to develop Touch Rugby across the city.

Yorkshire Thorns, who are based in Leeds and train weekly at West Park Leeds and Roundhay Park, have been running for a running for a number of years and will enter upcoming RFL Touch Rugby competitions and will be supported by Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

Tommy Dixon from Yorkshire Thorns said: “Yorkshire Thorns are incredibly excited to start their partnership with Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

“The Rhinos Foundation plays such a pivotal part across the Leeds and Yorkshire community and we are really looking forward to working with them on developing Touch Rugby across the Leeds, Yorkshire and North of England region together.”

Ian Hardman, Rugby League Development Coordinator for Leeds Rhinos Foundation, said: “We are delighted to be working with Yorkshire Thorns to help further develop touch Rugby League in the city . Touch Rugby is a fantastic way to keep fit and active and we want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and give it a try!”

Touch RL is a minimal contact version of Rugby League. This variant is open to any aged player, with any fitness level or sporting ability. The main difference between Touch RL and the traditional sport is that tackles are made by a touch to the rugby ball, clothes or body of the ball carrier. To find out more CLICK HERE.
