The success of the treble winning Leeds Rhinos side will help to inspire thousands of school children across Leeds thanks to a new charity partnership between Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Caddick Construction and Cover Structure Limited.
Throughout 2016 the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, with the support of their key partners Caddick Construction and Cover Structure Limited, will visit the 48 partner schools around Leeds to deliver a Leeds Rhinos themed day.
The ‘Rhinos Takeover Day’ will involve the schools getting a blue and amber makeover, visits from Leeds Rhino rugby players and Ronnie the Rhino. Children will also take part in multi-skills and tag rugby coaching sessions and have an assembly conducted looking at the inspirational Leeds Rhinos side who secured the Challenge Cup, League Leaders’ Shield and Super League in 2015.
Following the takeover day in schools, every child and their parent will be offered a match day ticket at a reduced price and invited to take part in a half time pitch parade in front of thousands of fans at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
Speaking about the new partnership Davide Longo, general manager of Leeds Rhinos Foundation said: "I am delighted to welcome Caddick Construction and Cover Structure on board as new, key partners of our charity. With their support, our ambition is to ensure that the incredible success of the Leeds Rhinos team over the last decade has a lasting legacy in schools.
“Many of the Rhinos players have grown up and attended schools in the city and they are great role models for the school children and we hope their story will help inspire a new generation of players and supporters.
“We aim to make the ‘Rhinos Takeover Day’ a memorable experience and we are grateful to Caddick Construction and Cover Structure Limited for their backing as this allows us to offer over 20,000 children a reduced match day ticket so they continue their engagement with the team by seeing their Rhinos heroes in action and playing their own role in the match day experience.”
Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, comments: “We’re thrilled to be involved with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation charity and its Rhinos Takeover Days. Sport can bring communities together and it’s a really great opportunity to bring rugby to the hearts of our younger generation.”
Gavin Quinlan, managing director of Cover Structure, said: “It is an enormous pleasure to be working in partnership with Caddick Construction in supporting the Leeds Rhinos Foundation. The team is a tremendous source of inspiration to the local community and Cover Structure look forward to being a part of such an important project.”
