The Leeds Rhinos Foundation attended the 2015 Yorkshire Charity Ball at Ledston Hall last week as the renowned charity’s main guest charity for the evening, welcomed by the Yorkshire Charity’s Committee, along with many other invited guests who were in attendance at the Shanghai Nights themed event.
This year’s Charity Ball was a homecoming for the Yorkshire Charity who returned to their familiar surroundings at Ledston Hall after six years of holding the annual event at venues around the county, including events at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
The Yorkshire Charity, who recently presented a cheque for £10,000 at the Leeds Rhinos home fixture against Castleford Tigers to assist the work of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, have remained a constant supporter of the foundation over the last three years and recognised some of the charities work at the event.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation Director of Operations Bob Bowman spoke at the event about the Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s work over the last 10 years and the ongoing support the Leeds Rhinos Official charity have received from the Yorkshire Charity, commenting:
“The Leeds Rhinos Foundations are honoured and privileged to have such a productive partnership with the Yorkshire Charity; they are a tremendous body of people whose energy and enthusiasm will leave a lasting legacy for the people of Leeds and Yorkshire.
“We thank them for hosting this event and backing the Leeds Rhinos Foundation as their major charity, we were delighted to recently receive a donation from the charity to support our ongoing work in the city of Leeds.”
Leeds Rhinos first team stars Ryan Hall, Carl Ablett and Jamie-Jones Buchanan and their partners also attended the Ball along with Chief Executive Gary Hetherington to show their appreciation and support of the Yorkshire Charity, who have continued to make a difference to charities across the County raising nearly £300,000 pounds since starting out in 1993 and supporting over 30 organisations with donations over that period.
Jan Knight speaking on behalf of the Yorkshire Charity added:
"The Ball was an amazing success again this year and we are already looking forward to the same again in 2016. As always we hope to provide another memorable occasion bigger and better than ever, so we ask that interested parties check our website for ticket information.
"We are still counting the funds raised from the night but we know that it is an amount in excess of £20,000 which is testimony to the generosity of our guests, sponsors and donors."
