Peter Morris (Irwin Mitchell Solutions Leeds) and Davide Longo (Leeds Rhinos Foundation)

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation and irwin Mitchell, Leeds are pleased to officially launch the Friends of the Foundation initiative; a charitable business network for the good of the city.

Businesses can show their support for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation's, the official charity of the Leeds Rhinos by providing a yearly donation of £500 to the charity and supporting their many community projects in and around Leeds. The aim is to help the Leeds Rhinos Foundation in their commitment to 'change lives through sport.'

Set up in partnership with Irwin Mitchell, the scheme aims to develop strong relationships with ‘friends’ in the initiative, who will be able see the direct influence their company donations have on the charities work and in return members are eligible for a range of benefits.

Davide Longo, General Manager of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation said: “We are excited to embark on this new initiative in partnership with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, who have supported the Leeds Rugby Foundation for five years. Together we have had continued success through our ‘Outdoor Adventures’ annual residential camp, which gives young people from community clubs the chance to spend a week away from home and take part in challenging outdoor activities.

“This experience is formative to personal development, confidence, team building and a great sense of achievement. Following the residential Irwin Mitchell hosts an Industry Day at their central Leeds offices to learn practical life skills in the ‘workplace’ environment. This joint venture is an example of the wide ranging approach we take to engaging and inspiring through the power of sport, health and education.”

Peter Morris, Partner at Irwin Mitchell, Leeds says: “The Friends donation is a relatively small amount of investment for businesses, and offers a great return in terms of benefits such as networking opportunities and Match Day hospitality draws, but most importantly collectively the money will be used for doing good in the community through sport.

“Irwin Mitchell is delighted to host the first networking event at our offices on Wednesday 25th March, where there will be a guest speaker and a presentation on the valuable work of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.”
