Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Kicks for Boots initiative sponsored by Cover Structure Ltd has seen a total of 50 junior Rugby League players receive a pair of X-Blades boots this season.

The junior players have been picked from ambassador clubs who have played in half time games at Leeds Rhinos home league fixtures, where five Leeds Rhinos players including Jordan Lilley, Liam Sutcliffe, Ashton Golding, Kallum Watkins and Rob Burrow have shared kicking duties to reach the total this season.

Rhinos Fullback Ashton Golding who has contributed 12 made goals as part of the overall regular season total said:

"It's fantastic to have played a part in this great initiative from Cover Structure providing so many young players with a free boots.

"I know when I was growing up and playing the game it was a special feeling to play at half time at a Super League ground but to get an extra boost by winning a pair of boots is a great way to inspire young players," he added.

The Leeds-based roofing and cladding specialists are a long time supporter of Leeds Rhinos' official charity and also sponsor the Rhinos Takeover programme which has seen over 830 pupils take part in a Leeds Rhinos match day experience from 60 schools Ambassador schools in the city.

Rugby League Development Plan Manager at Leeds Rhinos Foundation Leon Crick commented:

"Cover Structure have worked with the Foundation now for a number of years supporting initiatives that provide really positive opportunities for children in the city to help inspire them to succeed.

"The kicks for Boots initiative in particular has now provided nearly 100 young players with some X-Blades boots over the past two seasons which is huge for the young players, so we'd like to thank both Cover Structure and X-Blades for their support again this season."
