Over 250 boys and girls aged 6-12 got to meet their heroes from the Leeds Rhinos over the Easter holidays as Leeds Rhinos Foundation delivered Easter Rugby Camps over eight venues in Yorkshire and across the Pennines in Waterhead
The one-day camps which are delivered by coaches from Leeds Rhinos Foundation proved popular again over the 2018 Easter holidays with over 250 children taking part in rugby games, drills and coaching which also included appearances from member of the Rhinos first team squad.
Despite the inclement weather at the start of the Easter break which caused the Drighlington camp to be cancelled, over the following two days, 40 children turned out for camps at East Leeds and Methley Warriors where they got to meet Mitch Garbutt, Nathanial Peteru, Alex Sutcliffe, Brett Ferres, Ash Handley & Cameron Smith.
Players provided autographs and photos while also taking part in a Q&A with the kids to answer questions about their training, favourite moments and everything else Rhinos related.
With 7 of the 8 camps based in Leeds, the Foundation also followed up on years of delivering a camp in Waterhead with former Rhinos Captain Kevin Sinfield by running a camp in the at Waterhead ARLFC with guest coaches Chev Walker and Rob Burrow. The camp proved once again to one of the most popular with close to 60 children taking part.
In the second week of the holidays, Leeds Rhinos Foundation returned home to Leeds to deliver four more camps at Hunslet Club Parkside, North Leeds Leopards, Shawcross and Stanningley which included more appearances from the Rhinos squad.
First team stars Carl Ablett, Harry Newman & Jimmy Keinhorst, Ryan Hall, Matt Parcell, Jack Walker, Jack Ormondroyd, Brad Dwyer, Josh Walters, Nathanial Peteru, Jordan Lilley & Josh Jordan-Roberts all attended camps again to much excitement from the attendees with the ever-popular Ronnie the Rhino also joining in the fun.
