Hetherington to officially open new facilities at Guiseley Rangers

Guiseley Rangers are one of Leeds Rhinos Foundation's Ambassador Clubs

Following a recent grant from Sport England, the new facilities at our Ambassador Club, Guiseley Rangers, are officially being opened on Wednesday 28th June at Nunroyd Park. All are welcome to see Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive, Gary Hetherington officially opening the facilities from 6.30pm.

Ronnie the Rhino himself will be in attendance along with Leeds Rhinos players Brett Delaney and Jordan Lilley.

Hot and cold drinks will be being served from the newly refurbished Club house from 6pm and all former Guiseley Rangers players are welcome to come back and look at the new facilities, with the Club welcoming new players for all age groups including Under 7s, 9s, 11s, 15s, 16s and the new Masters team for players aged 35yrs and over.

All junior fans aged between 6yrs and 16yrs in the area are invited to come down for a skills and coaching session from 7pm, with ex Leeds Rhinos legend Chev Walker specifically working with the Under 15s and 16s.  Walker, who was a Grand Final winner with the Rhinos in 2004, re-joined the club this year to lead a new initiative to identify and recruit talented athletes from high schools in to Rugby League.

Following this, if you’re 35yrs or over then you can stay and participate in or support the new Guiseley Rangers Masters Rugby League team take on the Leeds Master team in a friendly game from 7.30pm.  Masters is strictly a social version of the sport and the rules are slightly modified to cater for the older player.  There are no winners, no champions and no cup finals, it's about the spirit of the game and rule number one is that everyone has to buy a drink for their opposite number!
