Leeds Rhinos Foundation Trustee and Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence Neil Wilson said he is excited about the prospect of running this year’s Asda Foundation Leeds 10k as part of the charity’s Run with the Rhinos team
Neil, along with a number of colleagues from the Yorkshire law firm have joined forces for the event, joining 75 other runners supporting Leeds Rhinos’ official charity by taking on 6.2 miles through the streets of Leeds this July.
Chadwick Lawrence renewed their long-standing partnership with the club in March to continue their contract as official legal partners to the club, strengthening an already long standing relationship between the two organisations spanning over 10 years.
As part of the relationship, Neil also sits on the board of trustees for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation charity, which has led the firm to support the charity for this year’s event.
Chadwick Lawrence’s running contingent made up of 16 runners this year are looking forward to race day said Neil.
“We are really looking forward to the event. We have taken part for many years and are particularly looking forward to running with the Rhinos this year. We all tend to get together afterwards for a drink and to compare blisters!
“I’m very proud to be a trustee of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation so we felt it was only right for our runners to join the Foundation’s team,” he added.
With less than 30 days to the event, the firm are in training for the event with the in-house competition as intense as always.
“Training is usually a tightly kept secret with most runners having you believe they haven’t started training yet, but usually they have and competition is always intense,” said Neil.
“Our non-running colleagues always support us as well and there will be several of them turning up on the day to cheer us along on the 9th July.”
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Run with the Rhinos team will be headlined by Leeds Rhinos legends Kevin Sinfield and Barrie McDermott, who will be joining the runners for the event for the second year running, providing extra incentive for runners to get involved this year.
“We know Kevin well as he is an Ambassador for Chadwick Lawrence, so to run alongside him is a great incentive,” said Wilson.
