Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce that we will be teaming up with fantastic locally based charities, The Howarth Foundation and Leeds United Foundation, for an evening to remember.
Together, on Saturday 20th July, we will host a fundraising dinner at Emerald Headingley Stadium with words of wisdom from Leeds sporting legends Jamie Peacock MBE and Noel Whelan.
Peacock made over 270 appearances for the Rhinos during his nine years playing at the club and is one of the most successful players in Super League history, having won a total of nine Super League championships, four Challenge Cup winners medals, a Man of Steel Award and also named in the Super League Dream Team on eleven occasions.
Since retiring from the sport, Peacock has built up an impressive career away from the game as a motivational speaker and also works with Leeds Rhinos in the Commercial Sales department.
Former Leeds United star Noel Whelan featured 48 times for the Whites, before going on to represent the likes of Coventry City, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Aberdeen, Derby County and Livingston in a 17-year playing career. Whelan has since returned to his boyhood club and is now the matchday co-commentator for all Leeds United games on BBC Radio Leeds.
The duo will be joined by comedian Lea Roberts, who will take charge of proceedings following his TV success of being crowned ‘Stand Up Britain’. Alongside entertainment from the gents, guests will also enjoy a three course meal in our brand new Emerald Suite and have the chance to take part in a special charity auction.
