Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce that it will host another Player Development Day in Oldham next half term on Thursday 24th February.
It follows on from the extremely response response when we hosted the first of these popular rugby league development sessions in the town last October, which saw more than 30 local players attend.
Delivered as part of the England Talent Pathway scheme, this free Player Development Day is an exciting opportunity for junior players at clubs in the Oldham area, which has long been a hot bed of talent for the Super League including Rhinos legends Kevin Sinfield and Barrie McDermott, to improve their game by receiving first-class training from Leeds Rhinos Pathway and Scholarship coaches.
The Development Day this February half term will take place at Hathershaw College with two separate sessions running for Boys in Years 8 & 9 (10am-12pm) and Years 10 & 11 (1-3pm) who are looking to improve their core rugby skills and reach their full athletic potential in a professional environment.
Once again, this session will be FREE for all players to attend!
Joe Sanderson, Rugby League Development Officer for Oldham, said: “We are extremely proud of how successful our Player Development Day programme has been, and we are now delighted to be able to offer more development opportunities in the February half term to build on the great work we’ve been doing in Oldham to help improve the skills of aspiring players and support the local community clubs with unlocking the full potential of their young talent.
“We’ve actually seen numerous players from community clubs in the Oldham and Rochdale area travelling over to attend our sessions before, so it’s great that we can now deliver something on their doorstep and this works perfectly together with our partnership at Oldham Sixth Form to provide further high-quality sporting opportunities for the young people of Oldham and support their development.”
Please note that places are limited and those who are interested in attending are urged to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
