First ever Women’s Try Club launched!

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to launch their first ever Women’s Try Club programme at Headingley Stadium to help encourage more females in Leeds to get fit and healthy.

The free 12-week programme has already helped more than 230 men across the city to lose weight and transform their lifestyle and now, for the very first time, it is being opened up for women who are looking to get active and achieve their new year’s fitness goals!

Launched back in 2016, Try Club focuses on realistic goal setting, support with nutrition and lifestyle advice, while providing a fun, safe space to take part in physical activity that is accessible and tailored to you.

Participants will be able to focus on their mental and physical health, learning more about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Each session is led by a trained health professional who will give you practical advice and personalised support throughout your journey, ultimately helping you to become more active and make healthier choices.

The programme starts on Tuesday 25th January is open to all women aged over 18 with a BMI of 25 or above, with weekly sessions taking place in the Leeds Rhinos Foundation South Stand Community Hub at Headingley Stadium every Tuesday from 6:30-8pm.

But best of of all, it’s completely FREE to join!

Each session will be broken down into two sections; the first will be a classroom-based session that focuses on a variety of health and wellbeing topics such as diet and nutrition, health benefits and alcohol intake, with the final 45 minutes used to encourage exercise participation by providing ‘tasters’ of various fun physical activities and team games.

According to research released by Sport England, over 65% of people believe that regular exercise is having a positive effect on their mental health during the pandemic, making a healthy and active lifestyle more important than ever before!
