First ever minis run as part of Run with the Rhinos team

On Sunday 18th June, staff and supporters of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation will take part in the Run For All Leeds 10K, to raise vital funds for the work we do in our community.

This year will see the first ever juniors running the Leeds Mini Run as part of the Run with the Rhinos team.

The Leeds Mini and Junior Run is open to runners of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities. The Mini Run is open to those aged between 3 and 8, with an overall distance of 1.5km and the Junior Run is for those aged between 9 and 15, with a total distance of 2.35km. The event takes place at the same time as the Leeds 10k and is a great way to get all the family involved.

Last month marked the inaugural Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon which saw more than 12,000 runners take on the challenging route. One of those runners was Elliot Paterson, who joined the 1% club on completion of the 26.2-mile course. In doing this, he inspired his two sons, Theo and Drew (aged 6 and 3), to follow in his footsteps. This Sunday, they will be taking part in the Leeds Mini Run in support of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, whilst their dad joins the team to run the Leeds 10K. Together, they will combine their fundraising efforts to support the work that we do in the city of Leeds.

Another mini that will be taking part in the event is Eddison, who has recently joined our newly formed Junior PDRL team. Him, his dad Liam and mum Ali, will take part in the corresponding events wearing the Run with the Rhinos shirt. This isn’t Eddison’s first time taking part in the Leeds Mini Run, but this is the first time he will be doing so as part of our team.
