The Leeds Rhinos Foundation are this year featuring a Community Club of the week following the weekend home fixtures and this week’s club in the spotlight is one of our community clubs Methley Warriors.
A little over 13 years ago Methley Warriors was formed in their small village by a couple of parents to allow kids from the area to start their rugby journey, little did they know that due to our ethos and dedication the Warriors would go from strength to strength and continues to be one of the fastest growing clubs around.
They now have over 100 kids, many from their local community but also lots from outside travelling from as far as Sheffield, Barnsley, Thorner and Wetherby who enjoy the friendly environment we aim to create.
New players are always made welcome at all age groups whatever their ability and we are especially aiming to recruit for our Under 11s.
They run the following training nights:
Under 7s & Under 8s – Train on Mondays at our Church Lane Playing Fields 6pm – 7pm
Under 11s & 13s – Train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our Church Lane Playing Fields – 6pm-7pm
Under 16s – Train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Pinfold Lane Pitches – 6pm – 7.15pm
They are Clubmark Gold Accredited and have been members of the Leeds Rhinos Ambassadors Scheme since the outset.
