Feature community club of the week: Leeds Irish Clovers ARLFC

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation are this year featuring a Community Club of the week following the weekend home fixtures and this week’s club in the spotlight is one of our community clubs Leeds Irish Clovers ARLFC

The Leeds Irish club were founded at the Irish Centre on York Road on the 5th November 2011 and have continued to grow ever since, now running three teams including under 9s and 10s.

The club are part of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation Club Ambassador Scheme and have attended Ambassador’s Festivals, played as half-time teams at Headingley Carnegie Stadium during the season and played at Butlins, Skegness as part of the Rhinos Challenge to date.

A spokesperson from the club said:

"With the wonderful warmth and generosity of the community and members at the Irish Centre, our parents and well-wishers, along with Sam Horner at the Leeds Rugby Foundation, our kids and teams have had the time of their lives these last 4 years!

"The Leeds Irish Clovers are very proud to be here at Headingley tonight, our hometown club, our special place, in a massive game at a special time of the year. Happy St Patrick’s Day."

The club operates with a simple philosophy “It’s all about the kids – let them play" and are recruiting players for the upcoming season.
