Leeds Rhinos Ambassador Club Farnley Falcons are looking for new coaches to work with their newly formed girls’ teams for the 2017 season
The Falcons launched their new girl’s rugby section in October 2016 with support from Leeds Rhinos Foundation Women and Girl’s Development Officer Lois Forsell, who provided a taster coaching session at the club following coaching delivery for girls in years 6 to 9 across West Leeds.
After an encouraging start to the club’s new section with 16 new players turning out at the launch, the girl’s section has continued to train with good numbers on Thursday nights and are now looking for a coach to lead the under 12s and under 14s sections going forward.
The West Leeds club are one of the fastest growing teams in Leeds and now host under 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s and 11s junior age groups along with their new girl’s teams, all assisted by a pro-active committee and parent support.
The club has strong ties with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation as one of the 36 Ambassador clubs operating in Yorkshire, which offers a number of opportunities to players and coaches alike throughout the year.
Clubs in the scheme benefit from fund raising opportunities, invites to Rugby League dinners and junior rugby festivals, opportunities to be involved in the Leeds Rhinos matchday experience and chances for coaches to benefit from the Leeds Rhinos Coach Education programme, led by Rhinos coach Brian McDermott.
Coaches interested in the role will ideally hold a level 2 coaching qualification or be willing to work towards one during the season. The girls are playing their first game in December and will be ready to hit the ground running in the new year.

The girl's section will continue to train on Thursday night's from 6-7pm. For more information, email Club Secretary Jonny Adams at jonny.adams@hotmail.co.uk
