Children aged 7-12 looking towards a career in Dance can gain an Explore Level Arts Award at our Leeds Rhinos Foundation Dance camp at Ralph Thoresby this February for just £25.
The new look four-day dance camps have been running since October 2016 during the school holidays offering more children the chance to gain valuable introduction to exploring a career of learning in the arts.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation received funding to deliver the Arts Award in the Leeds Community in February 2016 in partnership with Arts Council England and Rugby League Cares working primarily with Rhinestones members and schools in the city but are now offering all boys and girls aged 7-12 in the city a chance to take part in the award.
For just £25, students on the camps work with Dance Development Officer Nicola Booth through a mixed programme of choreography, arts and dance theory and performance in contemporary and musical theatre dance.
Students will work through course handbooks exploring musical theatre and contemporary dance theory and history, researching famous dance artists and local dance organisations and will record and evaluate their dance experience on camp from choreography to performance.
Following the camp, the participant’s handbooks and any video/photographic evidence will be sent for moderation by the Trinity College London international examination board. If pupils have passed the requirements, pupils will gain an ‘Arts Award Explore’ National Certificate, which is an Entry Level 3 qualification on the qualifications and credit framework and recognised throughout the UK.

Camps are available to boys and girls aged 7-12 and cost £25 (£5 per day and £5 to cover the course log book.)
