This weekend, hundreds of children from community clubs across the country would have been taking part in the annual Rhinos Challenge at Butlins in Skegness. With the event cancelled for 2020 Leeds Rhinos Foundation are reaching out to clubs to set them a challenge over the weekend.
Each team has been asked to create a unique video to share on social media over the weekend, to showcase their team. As players are still not able to meet up due to the lockdown restrictions, teams will have to show their creativity to include as many of their players as possible.
The winning team will win a training session with Leeds Rhinos legend Brett Delaney once normal training sessions resume.
Gareth Cook, Head of Community and Engagement at Leeds Rhinos Foundation said: “We are all disappointed that Rhinos Challenge is unable to ho ahead this year as it’s always one of the highlights of the year and a great way to see so many clubs coming together to play our game.
“We are all looking forward to getting back out into the community to support players and clubs, but in the meantime we thought this social challenge might be a fun way to engage with teams who would have been attending Rhinos Challenge and a bit of fun for the players during these unprecedented times.”
To take part in the competition and for a chance to win a training session for your team with Brett Delaney, simply create a video with your players in – it could be a socially distant passing challenge like the Rhinos Women’s team did below, or maybe each of your players could sing a line from a song or your team chant or players could show off their dancing skills – the more creative the better.
