Club Ambassador Festivals of Rugby League return for 2023!

We are pleased to announce that our highly popular Club Ambassador Festivals are taking place on 2 dates in August at the Bartercard Leeds Rhinos Training Complex in Kirkstall.

First up on Saturday 5th August will be the Dick Gibson Ambassador Festival with the u10s, 11s and 12s teams playing in the morning, and for the 2nd year running the festival for u12s, u13s and u14s girls in the afternoon.

All teams playing in this festival will be offered the chance to come and take part in pre-match activities and watch the Leeds v Leigh match the following day.

The Naturally Best Club Ambassadors Festival sponsored by Charlie Bretts‘ takes place on Sunday 20th August, which will be see our younger age groups u7s, u8s and u9s taking part.

The festivals will be once again supported by Leeds Rhinos, with players from both the Men’s and Women’s first team squads, many of whom represented community clubs in the city throughout their childhood years, coming along to sign autographs and present the players with their certificates and medals.

Long running sponsors Naturally Best will also continue their support for the festivals by extending their incredible offer of helping to feed the junior players for free across all three events.

Sam Horner, Community Club Development Officer for Leeds Rhinos Foundation said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to run our Club Ambassador Festivals again this summer and we can’t wait to see all the teams coming together for what is always a wonderful celebration of community rugby league”

“We know how much enjoyment the young players get out of playing at festivals and it’s a great reward for them over the summer to experience playing against teams from right across the local area at the Leeds Rhinos training complex.”

Helen Schofield,  Development and Standards Officer says, “We planned the Naturally Best Club Ambassadors Festival sponsored by Charlie Bretts to coincide with the popular family game which sees Leeds Rhinos Mens Team play Warrington.”

“The young players can play with their teammates in the morning before travelling the short distance up to the Headingley stadium and enjoy lots of family focussed activities.  All festival players and their coaches will receive a complimentary ticket for this game and parents,  friends and family can join them at discounted prices. Prior to kick off the young players will be invited to take part in a celebration pitch parade.”

“We would like to thank our good friends Charlie Brett’s and the Dick Gibson Family for their continued support in sponsoring the festivals, along with Naturally Best who always make an amazing gesture by agreeing to feed all the players taking part, free of charge.”
