Children’s Day 2015 set to be best yet!

Children's Day will be attended by the Leeds Rhinos squad

The popular Children’s Day, in partnership with Mears Group and Irwin Mitchell, returns to Headingley Carnegie on Sunday 19th July and this year’s free event is shaping up to be one of the best yet thanks to the support of local businesses and attractions.

Providing fun for all the family, Children’s Day – which is run in partnership by the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and the Garry Chappelow Memorial Fund – is now one of the biggest and most popular events in the Leeds calendar and last year saw over 6,000 people attend.

The success of Children’s Day owes much to the support from the Leeds community who have continually got behind the event following its relaunch at the stadium back in 2008 and this year many businesses, community groups, bands and sports teams have once again confirmed they will be attending and offering a range of activities.

Lightwater Valley, Snozone, Eureka, The Works Skatepark and Royal Armouries are among some of the attractions on offer.  There will also be lots of interactive fun with the chance to get involved and play Basketball, American Football, Cricket, Hockey, Baseball and Rugby.  There are also plenty of activities for adults to take part in – including Mum and Dad Touch Rugby!

Live music will be played during the day and there will be performances from dance schools and the Spencer Properties Dance Team.  The Leeds Rhinos squad will also be attending so there will be opportunities to get autographs and pictures with the players.

Children’s Day 2015 promises to be another fantastic event so make sure you get the date in your diary and come and join in the fun on Sunday 19th July!
