The broad spectrum of work delivered by Leeds Rhinos Foundation will be documented over the next twelve months as part of a new arts project with highly regarded photographer Jude Palmer.
The Harrogate-based photographer has been commissioned to produce a behind the scenes look at the charity’s work over the next twelve months. Jude’s ability to capture a profound moment, using any camera including phones, and her talent to see situations that others may have missed led to her appointment as the official behind the scenes photographer of the Grand Depart. Following this Jude has been commissioned by the RFU legacy committee to document the 2015 Rugby World Cup in the North of England.
Jude will follow the charity over a year with the brief to capture the emotional journey for both staff and the people connected with Leeds Rhinos Foundation, focussing on the five pillars of activity which the charity works under – sport, health, Education, Heritage and Arts.
Bob Bowman, Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Director of Operations said: “We are delighted to be working with a photographer of Jude’s calibre and we are excited to see what she captures over the next year. Every day our staff aim to improve the lives of the people they engage with and we believe this new arts project will be the perfect way to encapsulate that and tell the story of how our charity changes lives through sport.
Speaking about the project Jude said: "I am thrilled and honoured to be commissioned by the Foundation to document the inspirational work they do. I will try to do justice to the passion and commitment shown by everyone involved, and to those lives that the Foundation impacts upon. I'm sure it’s going to be a fascinating year.”
