The Leeds Rhinos Foundation officially launched the ‘Friends of the Foundation’ business initiative with partners Irwin Mitchell Solicitors at Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds Office, including special guests Gary Hetherington and Jamie-Jones Buchanan.
Guests at the event were welcomed to hear more about the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and the vast array of work that charity does in the community. Among words from Foundation staff, the night also heard from Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Officer Gary Hetherington and Leeds Rhinos player and England International Jamie Jones-Buchanan.
Gary Hetherington started off the evening by sharing his insight into running a successful sports club and the need of professionals to support, engage in and work in conjunction with the community.
The Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive officer was then followed up by Leeds Rhinos star Jamie Jones-Buchanan, who stole the show by providing a rousing insight into his journey and the impact of creating the right ‘environment’ for individuals to thrive. With his unbending passion for the club and the city of Leeds, the long term trustee of the Foundation provided a real insight into the essence of charity.
Among the guests last night were popular Leeds restaurant REDS True Barbecue and Marketing Director James Newman who took the opportunity to sign up to Leeds Rhinos Foundation as a Friend of the Foundation stating:
‘'What a fantastic opportunity to support a Leeds institution that delivers incredible work within the community, RED’s is proud to be a Friend of the Foundation."
Another Friend pledging membership on the evening was Ian Taylor, Managing Director at FHPP Ltd, Building Services Consulting Engineers commenting:
'‘Following our attendance at the Leeds Rhinos Foundation Presentation hosted by Irwin Mitchell Leeds, FHPP LTD Building Services Consulting Engineers, who are part of the TREBBI Group of Companies are delighted to sign up to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation to help support their charitable work to change live’s through sport.’'
As detailed at the event; the ‘Friends of the Foundation’ Business membership scheme is an opportunity for businesses to pledge their support to Leeds Rhinos Foundation. Furthermore, members are welcomed to a unique networking opportunity, with many events to be staged in the future.
The Leeds Rhinos Foundation develop personable, working relationships with all of our Friends of the Foundation and welcome businesses across industries to join our Leeds Rhinos ‘family’
