Rhinestones working through their routine at Ralph Thoresby School this week

Children aged 7-12 looking towards a career in Dance can gain an Explore Level Arts Award at a Leeds Rhinos Foundation Dance camp at Swinnow Primary School this Easter holiday.

The four-day dance camp offers children the chance to gain valuable introduction to dance and work towards an Arts Award.

The camp runs from Monday 3rd April – Thursday 6th April, 9.30am – 3pm, for boys and girls aged 7-12.  The camp is run by Dance Development Officer Nicola Booth and cost just £25 for four days and everyone attending will:

  • Explore musical theatre and contemporary dance
  • Research famous dance artists and local dance organisations
  • Create and perform a piece of dance
  • Record and evaluate the experience and findings in a fun hand book

Following the camp, the participant’s handbooks and any video/photographic evidence will be sent for moderation by the Trinity College London international examination board. If pupils have passed the requirements, pupils will gain an ‘Arts Award Explore’ National Certificate, which is an Entry Level 3 qualification on the qualifications and credit framework and recognised throughout the UK.
