Ambassador School’s year 7 boys reach the Yorkshire Cup Final

The Year 7 Boys team from Temple Moor School

Leeds Rhinos Ambassador School, Temple Moor have made it through to the final of the Yorkshire Cup that takes place on the 24th March at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium

Temple Moor Year 7 boys are playing in the Yorkshire Cup Final on Tuesday 24th March 2015 at the home of the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with a 6:25pm kick off, after reaching the county final in their first year together as a school team.

It is a fantastic achievement for the under 12s team, who will pit their wits on the night against Malet Lambert school from Hull in the year 7 boys final.

It has been an eventful year for Temple Moor, having reached the National stages of the RFL’s flagship champion schools tournament and the year 7 boys are joined by the year 8 girls’ team, who have also reached the Yorkshire final his year.

The school receives coaching from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and also have a player connection with the Leeds Rhinos, as current Academy under 19 players Harvey Hallas and Josh Jordan-Roberts are former pupils of the school.

Josh and Harvey have continued their relationship with the school and are coaching the current crop of Rugby League players at the school. The Rhinos academy players will be hoping to inspire the youngsters to similar heights to when both players represented Temple Moor in a schools Final at Wembley in 2010.

Russell Parker High School Development Officer, who has helped in the development of the newly formed team said:

“The boys have continued to work really hard on their game and a prestigious Final at a Super League ground is a fitting reward.”

Fellow Leeds Rhinos Foundation ambassador school John Smeaton Academy Year 9 Boys have also reached the final of their competition and will play alongside the school teams from Tenple Moor at the end of March, as part of three days of finals at The Belle Vue ground.

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation would like to wish all Ambassador Schools involved in the Cup and Plate finals the best of luck on the night.
