Places are still available for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Princes Trust Rugby League Leaders Award course running from the 15th-19th February.
The Leeds Rhinos Foundation and the Princes Trust are delivering a unique opportunity for 16-25 year olds looking to receive in introduction into a career in sports coaching with a Rugby League Leaders Award course running in February.
The five day course running at Stanningley ARLFC from the 15th to the 19th of February is available for free and is aimed at young people living in Leeds who need help getting into work or training, those interested in a career in the sports coaching industry or those looking to build up their CV with a recognised course qualification in sport.
Course content will involve team building and confidence building exercises, workshops on 'Drugs in Sport', 'Careers in Sport' and 'Healthy Lifestyles' as well as, the chance to learn how to deliver a rugby coaching session involving the coaching of different skills such as; play the ball, passing, kicking and evasion.
Attendees will then be assessed on the final day of the course with the opportunity to lead a tag rugby festival which will be organised and managed by the candidates themselves.
Parents, friends and families are all invited to the festival and the final awards ceremony will take place after the festival, where the candidates will be awarded their certificates.
As an added bonus, the course will include special talks from Leeds Rhinos star Stevie Ward and staff from Askham Bryan College about further education college courses available and attendees can enjoy a celebration event on the final afternoon where they will receive their awards from a special guest.

?Young people who have undertaken the award in the past have gone on to take on new opportunities including coaching local amateur rugby league clubs and progression onto Level 2 Rugby League coaching certificates accredited by the RFL.
