The summer holidays are set to get off to a great start with the Heart Yorkshire Children’s Day at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on July 17, which will see a performance from X Factor and I’m a Celebrity star Jake Quickenden.
The annual event, which is run by Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, and last year attracted over 5000 people will this year include a live performance the X Factor finalist, who will entertain the crowds with an hours set which starts at 2pm.
The Scunthorpe born singer, who begins a 14 date UK tour in September, said he is excited to be performing at the world famous stadium. “I’m really looking forward to performing at the Heart Yorkshire Children’s Day later this month,” said Quickenden.
“Headingley Carnegie Stadium is an iconic venue and I’m thrilled to be playing there and to be part of this great family event in Leeds. It should be a great atmosphere a very memorable day for everyone who attends.”
As well as a live performance from Quickenden, there will be activities for the whole family to enjoy and the chance to meet members of the Leeds Rhinos squad who will also be in attendance.
The team from Breeze Leeds will be bringing inflatables plus there will be plenty of sport to get involved with and Yorkshire attractions such as Lightwater Valley, Tropical World and Eureka will once again show their support for the event with stalls full of interactive fun.
There will also be plenty of sport to get involved with football, golf, relay races and mini basketball going on around the ground and stalls full of interactive fun from The Works Skatepark, Goals soccer centre and Catalan Soccer Schools, Warrior Factory Martial Arts Academy Leeds, Jack Rabbit Pottery, Team Activ, Hollybush Conservation Centre, Mini Mermaid Running Club, Gym Magic, Tropical Butterfly World, The Rainbow Factory and Barclays Code Playground.
Gates open at 10am and close at 4pm. Admission is £3 per adult and £1 per child (aged 5-17) and can be purchased on the day. Family tickets (2 x adults & 2 x children) are £5 and must be bought in advance at the Leeds Rhinos ticket office or online at www.therhinos.co.uk/buytickets.
All activities inside the ground are free.
