McGuire promotes the benefits of Leeds Rhinos Camps

Danny McGuire helping out with the coaching at Temple Moor

Leeds Rhinos star Danny McGuire was full of praise for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation staff after taking part in the first five day activity camp of the holidays at Temple Moor High School this week

The 2015 summer schedule of Leeds Rhinos Camps had already seen over 200 children from the North of England enjoying coaching in Rugby and Dance across five camps since the end of July, with another 100 due to take part in Rugby Camps over the next few weeks.

McGuire was among four players who attended the activity camp at Temple Moor, taking part in some afternoon sports with the kids before providing a Q&A and opportunity for photographs and signed Camp T-shirts.

Commenting on the day McGuire said:

“I am a massive believer in kids getting involved in sport at an early age, not just Rugby League, as obviously we are a Rugby League Foundation and a Rugby League club, but sports in general which is why these activity and skills camps are so good.

“Growing up I was doing different sports such as Rugby, Cricket, Football and I was really into sport. It developed me as a person and with having loads of energy as a young kid, it was great to go off and burn that energy but also make some friends as well.

With three more Leeds Rhinos camps supported by CDI Solutions Ltd and Wakefield & District Health & Community Support Ltd due to take place before the end of August there is still plenty of opportunity to get involved in a camp this summer.

Danny McGuire, who has attended Leeds Rhinos Camps every season during his glittering career added:

“Learning different skills and being out in the fresh air and being healthy is really important and the camps that the club run are really good so I’d urge parents to really consider them for their kids.

“The Leeds Rhinos Foundation always put a really fun time for the kids whether it’s a two or five day camp and whenever I get to come down I always see a lot of smiles on faces and kids having fun, so credit to them for providing more camps at so many venues again this summer.”

The Leeds Rhinos will be finishing out the school holidays with Rugby camps at Heworth, Dewsbury and Rochdale and still have places available to book online, over the phone and cost £30.

All camps include a free Leeds Rhinos Camp shirt, Gym bag and ticket to an upcoming Super 8s fixture.
