Leeds Rhinos Foundation will be staring a new initiative in April to develop the next generation of Rugby League referees through a ‘Ref with the Rhinos’ programme funded through the Foundation’s Rugby League Development Plan sponsored by Mears.
Owing to the need to provide referees at different ages and experience levels working in the community game with ongoing and up to date refereeing support, Leeds Rhinos Foundation will provide workshops and support to volunteer referees free of charge, starting with an introduction night at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on 6th April at 6:30pm.
The programme will offer refereeing opportunities through the Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s flagship rugby festivals, community matchday engagement, school competitions as well as, support for those looking to take on a referee qualification.
