Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Rhinestones Dance classes will return to four venues across Leeds next week offering street and cheer dance classes for boys and girls aged 5 to 16.
With the start of the new school term, young dancers of all abilities can take part in the weekly sessions led by Dance Development Officers Nicola Booth and Alishia Schofield alongside their team of student teachers from the senior Rhinestones group.
Rhinestones classes focus on street dance and cheer dance technique and are a great way for young dancers to learn the coolest moves, meet new friends and get the opportunity to experience the thrill of performing in front of thousands of Rhinos fans at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium on match days as well as, starring in an annual Rhinestones dance show.
Classes run on Monday night at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in the Carnegie Café Bar, Tuesday nights from Temple Moor High School and Wetherby Sports Association and on Thursdays at Ralph Thoresby High School including classes for Mini’s, Junior, Youth and Senior dancers aged from 5-16.
This year the Rhinestones classes will be assisted by senior Rhinestone dancers Amy Crosland along with new recruits Bobby Walker at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Hannah Suggit at Temple Moor High School, Megan Shortall at Wetherby Sports Association and Amy Gregson at Ralph Thoresby, who have all graduated through the Rhinestones ranks in previous years.
Dancers of all abilities are welcome with the first class FREE of charge and classes then priced at £3.50 per class or a block of six classes for £18. Suitable footwear and clothing for dancing is advised along with a water bottle.
