Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott will hold a Master Class Defensive Principles coaching workshop as part of the Leeds Rugby Coaching Association (LRCA) this coming Monday 12th May.
The defensive workshop delivered by McDermott, will take place on Monday 12th May from 6.45pm until 8.15pm at East Leeds ARLFC, 81 Easy Road, East End Park, Leeds, LS9 8QS.
It is open to any coaches who coach U12 age groups all the way though to open age teams.
This is a once in a life-time opportunity for coaches to learn from the best of the best.
The workshop will teach high-class Super League defensive principles through the use of practical play, coaching through games and group discussion.
The session will run as follows:
6.45pm Meet and Welcome
7.00pm Workshop Start
– Observe Brian Coaching a Community Club Youth
– Team on Defensive Plays & Principles
– Coaching Through Games
– Q&A with Brian McDermott
8.15pm Finish
Sam Horner Community Club Development Officer at Leeds Rugby Foundation added: "The LRCA is now established as a coach educator provider and the involvement of Brian McDermott along with the Leeds Rhinos performance team has more than added a professional edge to the programme.
"The programme includes offensive, defensive strategies, nutrition, conditioning, drug awareness and specialist workshops on coaching junior players," he added.
"We are evolving the programme continually, asking coaches who attend for feedback, but we always use the professional approach."
