Businesses from around Leeds came together this week to raise £250 for Leeds Rhinos Foundation as they competed in the inaugural Leeds Business Mixed Netball Competition staged at at Leeds Beckett University and organised by Team Activ Leeds.
Six organisations took part in the competition including Asda, Carter Towler, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Sports Coach UK, Hot Shots and Leeds Lightening with the latter finishing as overall winners on the night.
The competition organised by Team Activ, who specialise in creating bespoke programmes & events to improve wellbeing, performance, leadership, teamwork & culture across the city, involved a round robin of matchups pitting mixed netball teams from the six organisations against each other, all designed to provide a business networking environment and a chance for some after work leisure time and healthy competition.
Kate Lightfoot from Leeds Rhinos Foundation commented:
"We are delighted with the amount raised in the first tournament of it's type we have co-hosted and obviously the bigger bonus from the event has been getting people out socialising and playing sport.
"The feedback from the event has been fantastic, so we are indebted to our organisers Team Activ for their support and Leeds Beckett University for hosting the event and obviously we would like to thank everyone for coming along and taking part."
