Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Askham Bryan College link up to offer new sports course

Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Askham Bryan College are delighted to announce an exciting education partnership offering Sports Turf Maintenance, Sports Coaching and Facilities course opportunities.

The first step of this partnership, is the start of a new Level 3 BTEC in Sports Coaching, Development and Fitness from September 2016 which will be delivered at the historic Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

The courses offer students looking to gain an introduction into a career in the sports industry, a unique opportunity to study for a recognised qualification within an elite sporting environment.

Through the new partnership, Askham Bryan College with Leeds Rhinos Foundation will offer students an exciting opportunity to learn and work within a world class international sports setting, at the charity’s on site TryZone Education centre, and gain valuable work experience through working with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation in schools, clubs and match nights.

The full time Level 3 BTEC course will provide an ideal qualification for anyone interested in a career in sport, with the course content meeting the demanding requirements of the sports industry and a series of industry experience opportunities available to students throughout the year.

Students will study a range of topics that open up a huge number of potential opportunities, ranging from coaching and instructor jobs and sports coordinator roles, through to business, marketing and event management and provides the necessary skills to continue studying in Higher Education.

Entry Requirements:

16-18 Years of Age
4 GCSE’s at grade C or above, including Maths & English
