Brigshaw High School looking for historic treble in the Leeds and Hunslet Schools Competition

Brigshaw High School

Brigshaw High School in Leeds will be hoping to follow up their recent win in the under 10s Leeds and Hunslet Schools Final with two more final victories in the upcoming year 7 and 9 finals taking place on the 9th December at John Charles Centre for Sport.

Brigshaw, who saw three year groups qualify for the regional (Yorkshire Cup) qualifiers in the RFL’s Champion Schools National Knockout Competition in November by navigating through the Leeds qualifying stages, continued their successful Rugby League campaign this academic year by qualifying through to three finals in the Leeds and Hunslet ‘Champions of Leeds’ finals, to cap off a fantastic start to the year.

With the year 10 and 11 finals taking place on the 25th November, Brigshaw began their hunt to be the first team in over two years to win the Leeds and Hunslet Competition trophy at three age groups with a hard fought 12-8 win over Corpus Christi College in the year 10 final; Corpus being the last school to achieve the Treble feat.

Corpus Christi Catholic College and Brigshaw School were both able to win the treble this year with three School teams represented in the two finals events at John Charles centre for sport, but it was Brigshaw who came through the first final winning the Wilson Trophy that dates back to 1932 and setting up a thrilling proposition for the year 7 and 9 year groups next Wednesday.

In fantastic preparation for their Leeds and Hunslet final on the 9th, Brigshaw's Year 9 Rugby League team beat South Holderness from Hull 32-0 to qualify through to the 3rd round of the Yorkshire Cup in the Champion Schools Competition and will be looking to continue their good from against Morley Academy at John Charles Centre for Sport.

The finals are Wednesday 9th December 2015.
