Ambassador Schools enjoy night at the theatre for Jamie Jones-Buchanan stage debut

Jamie Jones-Buchanan starring in Leeds Lads

Leeds Rhinos Foundation invited 120 children and parents to see Rhinos player Jamie Jones-Buchanan make his stage debut in the Red Ladder production, Leeds Lads.

Through our Ambassador School network, Leeds Rhinos Foundation paid for deserving children from schools in the local community to enjoy an evening at the Carriageworks Theatre. The show, produced by Red Ladder theatre company, centres on historical themes of Leeds’ past, the first World War and the rich multi-cultural city we know today.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan, who is also a trustee of Leeds Rhinos Foundation, took a starring role in the play alongside a community cast of 40 local performers.

Lisa McCann, School Development Officer for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, commented: “Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to give back to hard-working students from our Ambassadors Schools who may not usually have this opportunity. I hope they all enjoyed the show, which is both entertaining and educational. Seeing JJB perform in a different setting is an inspiration to us all to try something new!”

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation also invited a selection of School Ambassadors to attend the event, in thanks for their ongoing support of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
