The Calverley Supporter branch recently held a successful quiz night for their members and donated all the proceeds from the event to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
The event was organised by our Supporter Ambassador Ian Mitchell, and eleven teams took part in the quiz. Leeds Rhinos Foundation entered a team, which included Partnership Manager Dan Busfield and Rhinos players Jimmy Keinhorst and James Duckworth. There was also representation from Hunslet Hawks and those two teams competed in another competition along the main quiz to determine the most knowledgeable of the two.
Ian explained: "As we had teams from Hunslet and the Rhinos we came up with the idea that the two could compete for the "Lazenby Encyclopaedia" award. This year this went to Hunslet Hawks who scored 78 points.
"One of the great things about being a member of a Supporter branch is the opportunities to meet the players and like-minded folk. I would like to thank all the teams who came down to make the night such a success and we hope to hold similar social events over the season."
Leeds Rhinos Foundation's Dan Busfield added: "It was a top night, although we are little disappointed not to come away as winners of the quiz! The Supporter branches are a fantastic way for fans of the club to get together in their local are. I would like to thank Ian and all the Calverley supporter branch members for their kind donation to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation."
