Leeds Rhinos fans are urged to welcome Keith Senior and his Quest 14 team home this coming Sunday when they arrive at Headingley Carnegie Stadium to deliver the match-ball ahead of the Rhinos encounter with the Catalan Dragons.
Fans can also tweet @RugbyLeeds and Keith Senior @KeithSenior4 on social networking site Twitter with their ‘Welcome Home’ message. Don’t forget to hash-tag #Quest14!
Rhinos legend, Senior and his five-strong cycling team started out on Sunday from Perpignan, in the South of France, the home of the Catalan Dragons, where they cycled to Gaillac, covering 136 miles. The team set up camp in Gaillac before then departed to Perigueux on day 2 covering 130 miles. Day three of the cycle saw them ride from Perigeux to Poitiers. The team then headed to Le Mans bfore an overnight ferry took them to Caen.
Today, day 6 sees them cycle from Portsmouth to Leamington Spa, covering 144 miles before the team will cycle the Grand Depart Stage one route of the Tour de France, from Harrogate to Headingley which takes in 134 miles, totalling the entire trip at a staggering 1010 miles!
They will then cycle into the stadium just moments before kick-off to hand the match-ball to the referee ahead of kick off. The Rhinos are also fittingly wearing the unique limited edition yellow kit, to celebrate the Tour de France coming to Leeds.
There will be bucket collectors around the ground during the game on Sunday and fans are urged to make some noise as Senior and the Quest 14 team arrive ‘home’.
