2024 marked the tenth anniversary of our annual Rhinos Challenge event, ran in partnership with ESF Events, held over two weekends this month at Butlins in Skegness.
Over 12,000 attendees, including players, along with their friends, families, and teams, participated in the event.
Both weekends were immensely successful, attracting a record number of Rugby League and Netball teams:
- 323 Rugby League teams
- 97 Netball teams
- 1050 Rugby League fixtures
- 450 Netball matches
- 70 volunteer referees and umpires
This year we were honoured to be joined by a whole host of famous faces from across the club, including first team players, James Donaldson, David Fusitu’a, Morgan Gannon and Jack Smith, Assistant Coaches, Chev Walker and Scott Grix, Leeds Rhinos Netball stars, Celyn Emanuel and Amy Braithwaite, alongside Head Coach, Liana Leota, and of course, Ronnie the Rhino!
Each weekend concluded with a presentation show celebrating the players’ achievements.
Teams were invited onto the main stage to receive their Rhinos Challenge medals from Rhinos players. Awards included Fair Play, Magic Moment, Player of Steel, and the Main Cup for teams aged 12 and above. Additionally, attendees enjoyed the popular Rhinos Challenge Lazer show, which has been perfected over the past couple of years!
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success year on year, from the staff at ESF Events and Butlins, to the players, parents, coaches and their teams.
