Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair welcome new partner Clonera

The Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair Team is delighted to welcome Clonera as a new partner, following a generous contribution that will directly support the team’s continued growth.

Clonera, a Leeds-based AI company, specialises in capturing expert human reasoning and transforming it into intelligent systems. Its core platform, APEX, combines smart glasses with advanced AI to deliver expert-level decision-making in real time, originally built for motor insurance claims triage and now expanding into healthcare, assistive technology and elite sport coaching.

The partnership has already made an immediate impact, helping the team expand its provision and plans for a second weekly training night to support a growing player base which includes the team’s Development Squad.

James Franklin, Founder & Chairman at Clonera Group explained why they have decided to support the team: “I’ve been a massive fan of Leeds Rhinos and Wheelchair Rugby League for years, and when James and I got talking in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, it just clicked. Seeing the passion, the skill and the ambition up close, I knew Clonera had to be part of it.

“At Clonera we build AI that amplifies human expertise, and that’s exactly what these athletes represent.

“The fact that our partnership is already helping to launch a second training night and grow the player base is everything we wanted from this partnership. This is just the beginning.”

James Simpson-Hill MBE, Head Coach of the Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair team explained the impact that this will have: “Myself and the team are beyond grateful for this generous contribution from Clonera and we are delighted to welcome them on board.

“What started out as a catch up in Vegas has turned into something that will benefit the team massively as we head into a big year for both the Rhinos and our players set to compete in the Wheelchair RL World Cup.

“From myself, the team and the Foundation, we would like to say a massive thank you to James and everyone at Clonera and we can’t wait to see how this partnership progresses!”
