How long have you played for the PDRL team?

What made you join the PDRL team?

I was at a Rhinos dinner and Si Brown did a speech on behalf of the PDRL team, I’d not heard much about the sport before. I’d always played able bodied rugby union despite my disability but had stopped a few years ago and I jumped at the opportunity to not only get back into playing rugby but also being able to play for Leeds Rhinos who I have supported since moving to Leeds in 2010.

How has playing for the PDRL team changed your life?

There have been so many opportunities from playing for the PDRL team, whether that’s the opportunity to train with the 1st team or invitations to various events. I’ve also met some amazing people in the club in the last year. Playing for Leeds PDRL team gave me the platform to be recognised for international honours with England and also to be nominated for disability sportsman of the year at the Leeds Sports Awards.

What is your favourite thing about playing for the PDRL team?

I love the competitiveness, being able to play competitive sport with and against others with a disability means that everyone is on a similar level. This can make for some really hard fought games and tight results!

What is your most memorable moment whilst playing for the PDRL team?

Assisting both tries in last year’s victorious grand final was pretty special!!
