Community Clubs Development Officer

JOB ROLE

My role is to engage and support community clubs and create projects to develop Rugby League and in turn increase participation within the sport. My projects include; the Club Ambassadors Scheme, social Rugby League programmes, Coach Education and Junior Development projects and events.

SPORTING BACKGROUND

I have played Rugby League as a schoolboy for my City and County and for my Amateur club representing the Leeds & District at youth level. I played professionally and Amateur Rugby League until my late 30s and I am still playing our wonderful game in the form of Masters Rugby League. Other sports include Judo and Karate and most recently I have taken up Kayaking. I turn out annually for the Leeds 10K.

Bringing up my 2 children and watching them grow into good human beings.

BEST SPORTING MOMENT

Watching my first Challenge Cup Final, Leeds v St Helens 1978 and witnessing the Aussie Invincibles tour of 1982, inspirational for our sport at the time.
