Rugby League Development Plan
Rugby League Development Plan
The scheme, facilitated by Leeds Rhinos Foundation, is now in its eigth year. The Scheme builds on engaging the community clubs of Leeds and District, empowering them to create community cohesion for the betterment of Rugby League. Members meet monthly, and 35 clubs are now signed up.
Engagement includes; Coach Education, rugby events, and matchday experiences at Leeds Rhinos games, rewards to raise funds, cashback on Rhinos season memberships, player appearances and support with regards growing player base at all age groups.
Although we have empowered most Leeds clubs, who are the backbone of our scheme for the last five years, we always want to grow and increase our assistance to more clubs. Recently we have recruited Dewsbury/Batley area clubs and they are enhancing the network within the scheme for the good of all.
The highlight of the Club Ambassador Scheme calendar is our annual flagship event; The Dick Gibson Club Ambassadors Festival of Rugby League. Over 400 players from age groups Under 7s to 11s take part in a fantastic festival of Rugby League at Leeds Rugby Academy in Kirkstall, culminating in an excellent day, facilitated by the Leeds Rhinos Foundation staff and the clubs themselves.
The Club Ambassador Scheme will continue to be very much part of community rugby league in Leeds and we will grow the initiative with your valued assistance.
