12 Week Programme

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s new 12 week programme TRY Club, runs at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Wednesday evenings from 6-7.30pm, and on Fridays at Armley Leisure Centre, 1-2:30pm.

Led by staff from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation who are trained in providing one to one healthy lifestyles consultation, advice and support, the sessions focus on healthier eating and physical activity, splitting programme delivery between educational classroom learning and physical activity.

With a focus on realistic goal setting, nutrition and other health related topics, the week by week approach to improving health and weight management helps service users achieve maintainable lifestyle changes.

The full breakdown of the programme is as follows:

Week 1 - Introduction to the programme, goal setting and activity monitoring
Week 2 - Benefits of a healthy weight and regular eating
Week 3 - Reducing Sugar intake
Week 4 - Focus on Fat
Week 5 - Food groups and portion size
Week 6 - Calories and Energy Density
Week 7 - Physical Activity
Week 8 - Alcohol and Takeaways
Week 9 - 'Cook and Eat' Workshop with Jamie's Ministry of Food
Week 10 - Review, Salt and Fibre
Week 11 - Client led session
Week 12 - Review and Planning for the future

The programme runs in twelve week blocks and ww are currently taking registration on a waiting list for the course.

To be eligible for the programme, you will have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 25, be male and over the age of 18.
