Leeds Rhinos Foundation's Director of Operations has now completed the fifth day of his 15 in 15 Marathon Challenge and is still going strong!
Bob began the challenge, which is aiming to raise £25,000 for Leeds Rhinos Foundation, on Friday 12th May and he completed his first marathon in 4 hours 36 minutes. The weather was in his favour on his first day and he was cheered on by some Barrow fans, who were getting ready to support their side against the Rhinos in the Challenge Cup.

After completing the second marathon, he reported back that his calves were feeling sore but the messages of support had helped him through to complete in 4 hours 40 minutes.

The conditions in the Lake District on day 3 were warm so a steady approach was taken. Although Bob said it had been a tough slog in the second half of the course, he was delighted to be greeted by his dog Freddie near the end to spur him on.

Day 4 brought torrential rain and bad road conditions for the runners and Bob said he experienced a whole range of emotions during the 26.2 mile course.

Speaking about the challenge so far Bob said: "It's great to have finally got the challenge started, and although it is extremely tough, the support I have received from fans at home and those cheering us on over the course really has helped to keep me going.

"After finishing we all then have the pain to endure of an ice bath and one hours physio. I take my hat off to the Rhinos players as they endure this continuously as professional athletes.

"I would like to thank everyone who has donated to me so far, I truly appreciate all your generosity. We are nearing £16,000, which is an incredible amount, but we still have a long way to go to reach our £25,000 target. Money raised will help Leeds Rhinos Foundation continue to deliver important projects in our community and help us in our ambition to change lives through sport, so if you can please visit my fundraising page."
