The Leeds Rhinos Foundation's new 12 week programme TRY Club, runs on Monday day times 1pm - 2.30pm and Wednesday evenings from 6-7.30pm, led by staff from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation who are trained in providing one to one healthy lifestyles consultation, advice and support.
The sessions focus on healthier eating and physical activity, splitting programme delivery between educational classroom learning and physical activity.
With a focus on realistic goal setting, nutrition and other health related topics, the week by week approach to improving health and weight management helps service users achieve maintainable lifestyle changes.
The full breakdown of the programme is as follows:
Week 1 - Introduction to the programme, goal setting and activity monitoring
Week 2 - Benefits of a healthy weight
Week 3 - Food groups and portion size
Week 4 - Principles of fitness
Week 5 - Food labels
Week 6 - Review, Salt and Fibre
Week 7 - Ministry of Food
Week 8 - Alcohol and Takeaways
Week 9 - The importance of hydration
Week 10 - Overcoming challenge
Week 11 - Client led session
Week 12 - Review and Planning for the future
The classes take place in the Captain's Lounge at the back of the main strand at Headingley Carnegie Stadium (next to the tunnel).
The programme runs in twelve week blocks and ww are currently taking registration on a waiting list for the course.
To be eligible for the programme, you will have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 25, be male and over the age of 18.
