The work the charity does on a daily basis reaches to the core problems faced by the city's troubled families and our innovative, constantly evolving programmes of learning are now a vital intervention for Leeds. Being a voice for young people is important and at TryZone, through consultation, the staff are able to listen to the needs of young people, understand their barriers and develop programmes that will make a difference to their lives.
Weekly feedback from school staff helps TryZone to monitor the impact the courses are having on young people's progress back in school and at home.
Head teacher feedback:
"It has been great for the girls to attend sessions at TryZone. Student A in particular has started to appear more positive and engaged in activities at school."
"My child seems to be on the up. Thank you to all staff/volunteers at TryZone for your input. She really enjoyed it and the last term has made a huge difference….she has signed up for lunchtime girls rugby club and is even thinking about joining the mixed team to train after school! I wouldn't have believed any of this six months ago. Her confidence and willingness to have a go have been transformed. So thanks and keep up the good work!"
